ATV use by Hunters

The question has been raised concerning the use of All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) in the training area by hunters accessing their tree stands for the hunt this year.

The following guidelines will be used by Range Control staff.

1.         Only hunters with a medical condition requiring the use of the vehicle to access the area of the tree stand will be authorized the vehicle use.

2.         Hunters may use ATV to retrieve the deer from the area of a tree stand only as a means of transporting the carcass from the tree stand to the road.

3.         At no time are ATVs to be used to chase a wounded animal.

4.         Hunters with ATVs on trailers will leave trailers in parking area NE of Range Control building as to not cause congestion in the hunting area.

The above measures will be enforced by Range Control staff. Questions may be directed to Range Control MWO, WO Leggett at local 3979.

Important Message for Associate Members - Work Hours

Club Regulation

A new regulation has been voted in concerning work involvement in the Club for Associate Members.  The new rule will be in place to create a selection process for Associate Members to secure a chance at the Controlled Hunts when tags are limited.

Associate Members wishing to hunt will have to work a minimum amount of hours throughout the year which will consist of one of the following formats:

- work for the entire duration of 2 events (of more than 3 hours each) or

- work 10 hours of “work party” time or

- work for the entire duration of 1 event & 5 hours of “work party” time.

The required work time / events will be kept and registered by the personnel organizing the work / event.  It will be compiled by the Secretary and will be provided to the Hunting Director for validation, prior to the start of hunting.

Click Here to download the Associate Work Hour Registration Form (pdf format).   This form should be completed for each activity and given to the event coordinator to ensure you are credited the hours.
