ATV use by Hunters
The question has been raised concerning the use of All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) in the training area by hunters accessing their tree stands for the hunt this year.
The following guidelines will be used by Range Control staff.
1.Only hunters with a medical condition requiring the use of the vehicle to access the area of the tree stand will be authorized the vehicle use.
2.Hunters may use ATV to retrieve the deer from the area of a tree stand only as a means of transporting the carcass from the tree stand to the road.
3.At no time are ATVs to be used to chase a wounded animal.
4.Hunters with ATVs on trailers will leave trailers in parking area NE of Range Control building as to not cause congestion in the hunting area.
The above measures will be enforced by Range Control staff. Questions may be directed to Range Control MWO, WO Leggett at local 3979.
