As ATV director I would like to welcome you to the Base Borden Rod and Gun Club.   As a member of the   ATV section   you are invited to join us on weekly rides throughout the area.   We also take part in organized rides for various groups and local clubs as well on trail maintenance and work parties.

Weekly Runs:   Starting in the spring,   the ATV club will meet every   Sunday at 1:00pm in the Rod and Gun parking lot. The Monday prior to the ride, a message will be posted on the web site pertaining to where the club will be heading for that week.   Any other information will also be passed on at that time.   So remember to keep checking out the website for further information.

To ride an ATV within the confines of CFB Borden you must:

 

v   You must have a Trail Permit Decal visible on the Top Left Front Fender of your ATV provided by BBR&GC.

  Note: After Borden April 2007 the current flag system will be replaced by Trail Permits.      

 

v Have a valid ownership and insurance coverage for the vehicle on your person.

 

v Take the shortest / safest route from your PMQ / Place of work to a designated trail(s).

 

v At all times when in or around residential areas, maintain low speeds and reduce excessive noise. The maximum speed is 30 km/h, while riding on base.

 

v The Trillium Trail and Tank road from the Language school extending along Saskatchewan Blvd to the Angus gate is out of bounds.

 

v   Training areas may be used upon the authority of range control and only when they are not allocated for training purposes.   You must travel in groups of two or more, and may only operate with one person per vehicle. To enter range areas you must first sign in at range control, you will be issued a radio. You are to maintain continuous contact with range control, when leaving the areas you must return your radio and sign out of range control. During the summer season, May – Oct when the fire index is either high or extreme,   use of these areas is not permitted.

 

v Persons must be a minimum of 16 years of age to operate an ATV on Base Borden.

 

v ATV operation within the confines of CFB Borden is limited to the following hours:

Monday - Friday   0630 to 2200 hrs.

Saturday - Sunday 0730 to 23:00 hrs.

 

Violation of any of these rules may result in prosecution, suspension or cancellation of operating privileges on base and suspension of club membership privileges.
